Our Newest Scholarship Recipient! Meet Ravena

We are so thrilled to introduce you to Ravena, a bright eyed, inquisitive eight year girl, who comes from the Charan slum in Dharamsala, India. She has been attending classes in the 'tent school' within the slum and has demonstrated academic skills and a love for learning.

In order to attend school regularly and receive a quality education, she is in dire need of sponsorship so she can live and attend the Tong-Len boarding school we have been supporting for years. Thanks to support from our amazing customers, we are now able to send Ravena to school.

Ravena's family originally comes from South Rajasthan. They have lived in the slum for over 25 years. Both of her parents are laborers. Their work is unreliable and they have to travel to find employment, especially during the monsoon season. Ravena has three sisters and one brother. She is excited for this opportunity and has big dreams for the future. With an education, she will be able to move up in society and bring her family with her. She will be able to share her knowledge about health, nutrition, family planning, with her entire community.

...The ripple effect of sending one girl to school is immeasurable...

With every purchase you make through Dolma, you are supporting 500+ families in India. From the moment our table linens are stamped and our silk scarves woven, to the day that your loved ones unwraps their gifts, we are making a difference in the lives of women who benefit greatly. Thank you for being part of it!
